THE DOT CONNECTION

Privacy notice

The Dot Connection reviews the information you submit through the waiting-list form and uses it to respond to your application. Applying does not create a contract or sign you up for marketing.

What we collect and why

The form asks for your business name, your name, email address and the services you are interested in. You can also choose to share more details about your business. We use this information to review your application and contact you about the waiting list. Our lawful basis is taking steps you request before a possible contract (Article 6(1)(b) UK GDPR). If you use a referral link, you can separately choose to let us link your application to the referring TDC client and track its progress. This is optional and does not affect your application.

In the client portal, we store account details, business and brand profiles, onboarding progress, requests, Signal worksheet answers, Academy exercise notes and learning progress so we can provide your workspace and the services you request. You may also upload logos, product photographs, portfolio images and other business files to your private workspace for use in your website draft or to share with TDC. Uploaded files are accessible to authorised members of your workspace and TDC staff; they are not made public by uploading them. We process these details for steps needed to provide the portal and requested services (Article 6(1)(b) UK GDPR). These workspace details are available to people with access to your workspace and authorised TDC staff. Workspace owners can clear saved Signal worksheet answers in the portal; this does not remove information saved in Business or Brand profiles. Academy notes can be changed or cleared by editing and saving them. If you request Spark access, the founder records whether your student eligibility was verified, the date and the verifier’s name. We do not store student documents; this record is used to confirm access to Spark. You can choose whether to show your business name, a short introduction and collaboration interests to other TDC clients. We use this information to provide the collaborator directory. Connection requests and shared goals or milestones are visible to the clients involved. Your email and personal contact details are not shown in the directory. The lawful basis for the public profile is your consent; you can turn it off in the portal. We email the workspace owner about connection requests, responses and shared-work updates so they can respond and follow progress. Resend processes these emails for us.

Storage and retention

Cloudflare hosts the site and stores applications and client workspace data. Resend sends emails and stores email data in the United States. IONOS provides TDC’s mailboxes. We keep applications while they remain active on the waiting list. If an application is declined, withdrawn or becomes inactive, we delete it and related mailbox emails within 12 months. Referral codes are kept with an application only when you opt in. Client account details, business and brand profiles, worksheet answers, Academy notes and progress, Spark eligibility status and verification details, directory profiles, connection requests, shared progress, referral milestones, and files and images uploaded to a private client workspace are kept while needed to provide the portal. We delete this information within 12 months after the client account closes. Resend deletes email data after 30 days on its free plan.

Cookies

We do not use advertising or analytics cookies. The portal uses a strictly necessary sign-in cookie. Without “Remember me,” it is removed when you close your browser; the session also ends after 30 minutes of inactivity or 12 hours. If you select “Remember me,” the session can last up to 30 days and ends after seven days of inactivity. You can sign out at any time to clear the cookie.
