Whale Watching with Hornblower Cruises

December thru April

Whale watchers are treated to the awe-inspiring sight of the approximately 28,000 gray whales passing by the San Diego coast while aboard a comfortable Hornblower whale watching yacht. We offer guaranteed sightings of these majestic giants. If we don’t see a whale we will offer you a “Whale Check” to come back for free. Besides whales, you’ll witness many varieties of marine life: four types of dolphin, sea lions and marine birds such as Brown Pelicans and Blue Herons along the way. See all the famous and historic sights of the San Diego bay: navy submarine base, NOSC and the Point Loma Light House and Cabrillo National Monument.

Bates Nut Farm

Fall

Bates Nut Farm started with walnuts, but now purchases nuts from all over the world. Pistachios, pecans, cashews, peanuts, pignolias, sunflower seeds and much more can be purchased on the farm. The nuts come raw, roasted, some spiced up and unsalted. To ensure quality and freshness we roast and package our nuts on the farm. The Bates family takes pride in providing a quality product at a fair price. It’s part of the tradition. Visit the Bates Nut Farm Website     Location

Summer Pops Concert Series

Summer

The Ashford University Summer Pops is San Diego Symphony's annual outdoor summer concert series. The concerts are performed on a stage we construct each year at Embarcadero Marina Park South, on San Diego Bay right behind the San Diego Convention Center. Seating options include cabaret tables, grandstand seating (fold-down chairs) and general admission lawn seating. As this is an outdoor venue by the Bay, warm and layered clothing is recommended! Summer Pops is 10 weeks of concerts from just before 4th of July through Labor Day, all featuring the San Diego Symphony and some of today's hottest pop acts.
